Places along the river
Eight real public places within a short ride of Marikina City Hall where the city lives, gathers and remembers.
Our anchor point is Marikina City Hall, Shoe Avenue, Barangay Santa Elena, Marikina City, Metro Manila. Every place below is within a few kilometres of it, most of them within walking distance of the Marikina River. Together they tell the story of a river city: its parks and plazas, its heritage and faith, its markets and the large public buildings that become shelters in a storm. None of these places is affiliated with this site; visit them as a resident or guest, and check each one's own announcements for hours and events.

A remembrance walk
If you want to mark the anniversary of Ondoy on foot, a simple route links several of these places: start with a prayer at Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish, walk the heritage street past the Kapitan Moy Residence and the Shoe Museum, then go down to the River Park and follow the water south toward Riverbanks Center. Go in dry weather, and never along the bank when alarms are raised.
